Let the distance between flyer and wall be x.
height at which kite is flying,h=40m
length of string,l=50m
we know kite is flying perpendicularly to the surface.
so,
l^2=h^2+x^2(PythagorasTheorem)
50^2=40^2+x^2
2500=1600+x^2
x^2=900
x=30
so distance between wall and flyer is 30m.
