The correct answer is - To check for the presence of the Rh antigen.

Antigen D, also known as the Rhesus (Rh) factor, is a kind of an immunoglobin that is found in the blood of human beings. The antibody component for this antigen D in the blood is provided by the anti-sera D.

When the Rh factor is present in the blood, it is called as Rh-positive and when it is absent, it is called as Rh negative. When the antibody and antigen for Rh factor react, they agglutinate to form a complex.
