Answer:

4 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

a labour is engaged for 20 days on the condition that he will receive rupees 120 for each day he works and will be fined rupees 10 for each day

if he work he will get 120

if he absent he will be fine of 10

let x be days he worked

(20-x) be days he was absent

If he receives rupees 1880 in all,

1880=total present work-absent work

1880=x*120-(20-x)*10

x=16 days he was present

absent days are (20-16)=4 days
