A labourer is engaged for 20 days on the condition that he will receive 120 rs for each day he works and will be fined 10rs for each day he is absent . If he recive 1880 rs in all, for how many days did he remain absent?

Total Days he engaged - 20 days

Amount he receive per day - 120 rs

Total Amount he received in 20 days - 120 × 20 = 2400

but he received - 1880 rs

Total days he absent - 2400-1880 = 520

520 ÷ 20 = 26

Therefore, He was absent 26 days
