⇒  Let number of days labourer  did work =xdays

⇒  Then number of days he was absent =(30−x)days

⇒  Amount for days he worked =60x

⇒  Amount cut for days he was absent =10(30−x)=300−10x

According to the question,

60x−(300−10x)=1700

60x−300+10x=1700

50x−300=1700

50x=1400

x=

50

1400

∴  x=28days

⇒  Absent days =30−28=2days

∴  A labourer remain absent for 2days.
