Answer:

24 days

Step-by-step explanation:

30 days = 30*80 RS. = 2400 rs.

each day he will be fined instead of paid

so he will lose 80+10 each day when he is absent

method 1 - we keep on subtracting 90 from 2400 until we get 1860

2400-90=2310

2310-90=2220

2220-90=2130

2130-90=2040

2040-90=1950

1950-90=1860

we subtracted 90 6 times... so 6 days the labourer was absent...

days present = total days-days absent

              =30-6

              =24 days

Answer:

my answer is similar to the given question but

in this per day payment is rs. 80

for absent is rs. - 5

and amount earned is Rs. 1040

let the no. of days present be x

no . of days absent be y

we will get first equation as x+y = 3o days
