Step-by-step explanation:

total no. of working days = 30

let he went to work = x days

let he absent to work = y days

x+y = 30

x= 30-y

his daily wages = 260

his x days wages = 260x

his fine when he absent = 100

total fined in y days. = 100y

total money he get paid = 5640

260x-100y= 5640

on putting value of x=30-y we get

260(30-y) - 100y= 5640

7800-260y-100y= 5640

7800-360y= 5640

360y= 2160

y= 6

x= 30-y

x= 30-6

x= 24

hence he worked for 24 days
