Answer:

H=13m

perpendicular=12m

base=?

by PGT

13^2=base^2+12^2

base^2=13^2_12^2

base^2=169_144

base^2=25

base=√25

base=5m

Answer:

Length of ladder =13 m.

BC=12m,AC=13 m.

In ΔABC,

AB

2

+BC

2

=C

2

(Pythagoras theorem)

AB

2

=AC

2

−BC

2

=13

2

−12

2

=169−144

=25

∴AB=5 m.

∴ The distance of the foot of the ladder from the base of the wall =5 m
