Answer:

the answer is 17 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

5+12=17 m

by pyth thm.

13²=12²+x²

therefore x=5m

as the ladder is same the height of ladder is same=13m

for other side when its at 5m height,

by pyth thm.

13²=5²+ x1²

therefore x1=12m

therefore,the width of road is 5+12=17

thus the answer is 17 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Length of ladder=13m

Height of first window above the ground=12m

Height of another window above the ground=5m

According to question,

Distance of the foot of ladder from the wall of window=√13^2-12^2

=√169-144

=√25

=5m

Now,

foot of ladder placed at same point but ladder turned to another window which is at the height of 5m

Distance of the foot of ladder from the wall of another window=√13^2-5^2

=√169-25

=√144

=12m

Therefore,

The width of the width of Stree=5m+12m

=17m

Hope it helps you.
