A ladder 15m long just reaches the top of a vertical wall. If the ladder makes an angle of 60 with the wall. Find the height of the wall.

As shown in figure AB is wall and AC is ladder making an angle 60° with the wall.  

Given Length of ladder =  15 m  

Now, let height of the wall is  \text {x m}

By Trigonometric ratios

  cos\theta =\dfrac{Base}{Hypotenuse}

\Rightarrow cos60^{\circ} = \dfrac{AB}{AC} \\\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{1}{2} = \dfrac{x}{15} \\\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{15}{2} =x

x = 7.5m

Therefore, the height of the building is 7.5m
