Question :

★ Answer

In ΔDCE ;

using Pythagoras,

DE² = DC² +CE²

CE ² = DE²- DC²

CE ² = 225 -81. [ DE = 15 m and DC = 9 cm ]

CE = 12 m

Now ;

the ΔABE

using Pythagoras

AE² = AB² + BE²

BE² = AE² - AB²

BE² = 15² - 12²

BE² = 225-144

BE = 9 m

Hence, BC = BE + EC = 12 + 9 = 21 m

width of street = 21 m
