Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the first distance :

a² + b² = c²

a² + 8² = 17²

a² = 17² - 8²

a² = 225

a = √225

a = 15 m

Find the second distance :

a² + b² = c²

a² + 15² = 17²

a² = 17² - 15²

a² = 64

a = √64

a = 8 m

Find the width of the street:

Width = 15 + 8 = 23 m

Answer: The width of the street is 23 m
