given,height of the building(p)=20cm
length of ledder(h)=25cm
distance between foot of ledder(B)=?

By Pythagoras theorum
h^2=P^2+B^2
25^2=20^2+B^2
625=400+B^2
B^2=625-400
B^2=225
B=root 225
B=15cm

distance between foot of ledder=15cm

Answer:

  • Length of BC is 15 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

  • In ΔABC , ∠C = 90°
  • AB = 25 m
  • AC = 20 m

To find

  • BC

Solution

  • AB² = AC² + BC²

(Pythagoras theorem)

  • BC² = AB² - AC²
  • BC² = 25² - 20²
  • BC² = 625 - 400
  • BC² = 225
  • BC = √225
  • BC = 15

BC = 15 m
