A ladder 30m long reaches a window which is 18m above the ground on one side of street keeping its foot at the same point. The ladder is turned to other side of the street to reach a window 24m height. What will be the width of the street?
a. 44m b. 46m c. 42m d. none of these.

(30)^2=(18)^2+X^2

=900-324=X^2

=ROOT576=X

=X=24

AT 24M

(30)^2=(24)^2+Y^2

=900-576=Y^2

=Y=ROOT324

=Y=18

HENCE, WIDTH=24+18=42M
