a ladder is placed against a wall of a building 20m above the ground. The length of the ladder is 15m away from the bottom of the building. what is the length of the ladder? pls find this answer with steps​

Since the ladder touches the wall 20m above the ground, the height will be also 20m.

The length  of the ladder from the bottom of the building is 15m away, therefore base will be 15m.

To find:

The length  of the ladder

Solution:

according to Pythagoras theorem,

Hypotenuse2 = Height2 + Base2.

therefore, length of hypotenuse calculated as:

(Hypotenuse)² = (20)² + (15)²

(Hypotenuse)² = 400+225

(Hypotenuse)² = 625

Hypotenuse =  25

therefore,  length of the ladder is 25m.
