a ladder, leaning against the wall, makes an angle of 45° with the wall. How long is the ladder if its foot is 3½ m from the wall?​

Answer:

Let the ladder be AC Distance of foot from the wall be BC.

Angle = 45°

Distance of foot from the wall is 3.5m

Now ,

Sin45° = BC/AC

i.e. 1/√2 = 3.5 / AC

i.e. AC = 3.5√2 m

Therefore the length of ladder is 3.5√2 m
