A ladder leans against a vertical wall at an angle 60⁰ to the wall. If the foot of the ladder is 5 metres away from the wall, calculate the length of the ladder.

Let , AB is the wall

BC is the ladder

AC is the distance between the foot of the ladder and building, which is = 4.6 m

Angle ACB = 60°

Now , from Right triangle ABC

Cos 60° = AC / BC

1/2 = 4.6 / l

l = 4.6 × 2

l = 9.2

Therefore, length of the ladder = 9.2 m
