Hey Mate!

Let the altitude be A

Length of ladder (hypotenuse) = 12.5m

Distance of end of ladder from the wall (base) = 7.5 m

It forms a right triangle.

Therefore,

Applying Pythagoras Theorem

( H )² = ( B )² + ( A )²

( 12.5 )² = ( 7.5 ) + ( A )²

156.25 = 56.25 + ( A )²

156.25 - 56.25 = ( A )²

100 = ( A )²

10 = A

Therefore, Height is 10 metres
