Number of cubes used = 108

Given: A lady wants to build a box with following measurements

Length = 9cm, width = 12 cm and height = 3 cm

The cubes which is used is 3 cubic cm cubes

To find: Number of cubes required to built the box

Solution: The volume of the cube which is used to built the box = 3 cm³

The volume of box built by lady

= 9 cm × 12 cm × 3 cm   [ ∵ volume of cube = length×width×height ]

= 324 cm³

Therefore, Number of cubes required

= volume of box / volume of cube which is used

= 324 cm³/ 3 cm³ = 108

Number of cubes used = 108
