Complete Question :- A woman’s store sells the following categories of clothing or the following prices : Blouse :GH 14 Skirt :GH 16 Dress : GH 25 Pantyhose :GH 2 pair for GH3 Socks : GH 7 .A lady goes to the store on a day when the store has 20% off sale on all skirts. If she buys 2 skirts, 1 dress ,and 4 pairs of pantyhose,How much money does lady have to pay ?

Solution :-

Price of clothing are :-

  • Blouse : GH 14
  • Skirt : GH 16
  • Dress :GH 25
  • Pantyhose:GH 2 pair for GH3 .
  • pair of Socks : GH 7

Items woman buy at 20% off on skirts :-

  • 2 skirts, 1 dress and 4 pairs of pantyhose .

since discount of 20% is on skirts only, she has to pay full amount for dress and pantyhose .

So,

→ MP of 1 dress = GH 25 = Amount she pays for 1 dress .

now,

→ MP of a pair of pantyhose = GH3

→ MP of 4 pair of pantyhose = 4 * 3 = GH 12 = Amount she pays for 4 pair of pantyhose .

now,

→ MP of 1 skirt = GH 16

→ Discount = 20%

→ SP of 1 skirt = (16 * 80)/100 = GH 12.8

So,

→ SP of 2 skirts = 2 * 12.8 = GH 25.6 = Amount she pays for 2 skirts .

therefore,

→ Total amount lady has to pay = GH 25 + GH 12 + GH 25.6 = GH 62.6 (Ans.)
