a lady has 25 paise and 50 paise coins in her purse . if in al she has 40 coins totalling rupees 12.50 , find the no of coins of each type she has?

Let number of 25 paise = x
number of 50 paise = 40 - x

$\frac{1}{4} (x) \: + \frac{1}{2} (40 - x) = 12.50$
$\frac{x}{4} + 20 - \frac{x}{2} = 12.50$
$\frac{ - x}{4} = 12.50 - 20$
-x = -7.50×4
x = 30
hence, number of 25 paise = 30
number of 50 paise = 40 - 30 = 10
