To Find :

  • pressure exerted by the girl on the ground.

Solution :

  • weight of lady = 80kg
  • Area = 5cm²

Area = 5 × (10-²)² × 2

Area = 10/10-⁴ m²

Area = 10-³ m²

we know that,

  • Weight = mass × gravity
  • Force = ma or f = mg

So,

  • Weight = force = mg

Force = 80 × 10 = 800N

Pressure = Force/Area

Pressure = 800/10-³

Pressure = 800 × 10³

pressure = 800,000 pa

Hence

  • pressure exerted by girl 800,000 pa.

Given :  A lady weighing 80 Kg is standing on pencil heels, each having an area of 5 cm².

To Find : Calculate the pressure exerted by the girl on the ground

Solution:

Lady weight = 80 kg

m = 80 kg

Force = mass * acceleration

a = g = 10 m/s²

Force by Lady = 80 * 10 = 800 N

pencil heels, each having an area of 5 cm²

As there are 2 pencil  heels

Total area = 2 * 5 = 10 cm²

1 cm = 1/100 m  = 10⁻²  m

1 cm² = (10⁻²)² = 10⁻⁴ m²

Total area =  10 * 10⁻⁴  =  10⁻³  m²

Pressure =  Force / Area

= 800 / 10⁻³

= 800 * 10³  N/m²

= 800 k N/m²

= 800 k Pa

= 800000 Pa

pressure exerted by the girl on the ground =  800000 Pa
