A lamp consumes 50 watt and it lighted for 2 hours daily for the month of April.

We have to find the units of energy consumed by the lamp.

on April month,

number of days = 30

∴ total time taken to light the lamp = 30 days × 2hrs/day = 60 hrs

Power of lamp = 50 watt.

we know, energy consumed = power × time

= 50 watt × 60 hrs

= 50 × 60 Wh

= 3000 Wh

= 3.0 kWh

we know, 1 unit of electricity = 1kWh

so, units of energy consumed by the lamp = 3 units .

Therefore 3 units of electric energy is consumed by the lamp.

Answer:

3 units

Explanation:

POWER = 50 W = 00.5 kW { 1000W = 1 kW }

NO OF DAYS IN APRIL = 30

NO OF HOURS IT LIGHTED = 2

30 X 2 X 0.05 = 3 kWH

WE KNOW 1 UNIT = 1kWH

SO, 3kWH = 3 UNITS
