A landscaper wants to use a mixture of soil and sand to ensure proper soil drainage. He has just 43 cubic metres of soil that is 35% sand and an unlimited quantity of soil that is 27% sand. How many cubic metres of the 27% soil should he add to the 35% to create a mixture that is 31% sand?

I assume there is a typo in your second soil mixture and it should be 6 m3 of soil containing 15% sand. I am going to work with this mixture. 15% of it is sand so 0.15 × 6 = 0.9 m3 of the second mixture is sand

Hope it helped
