A lane 180m long and 5m wide is to be paved with bricks, of L ength 20cm and breadth 15cm. Find the cost of the bricks that are required ,at the rate of Rupees 750per thousand

length=180m=18000cm

breath=5m=500cm

area= 18000 * 500 = 9000000cm²

l*b(of brick)=15*20=300cm²

no of bricks=9000000/300 = 30,000 bricks

cost = 30000/1000*750 = ₹22,500

Here lane forms rectangle.

Area of lane is l*b i.e., 180*5 i.e, 900m²

No.of bricks required are (900m²/20*15cm²)

900m²/3m²( Here cm² are concerted into m² in denominator)

Hence total of 300 bricks are required.

It costs 750 for  1000 bricks

then for 300 bricks it costs (300/1000)*750 i.e., 225/-
