 \bold{IN \:  THE \: EXPERIMENT, }

When a crystal of potassium permanganate is kept in the beaker full of water after 5 minutes crystal of potassium permanganate slowly starts dissolving and spreads in liquid. The molecules of substance gets diffused throughout water uniformly. And eventually the whole solution aquires the pink colour of potassium permanganate .

THE FOLLOWING TWO PROCESSES TAKES PLACE :-

 \huge \bold{DIFFUSION}

It is the free movement of molecules from their higher region to the region of their lower concentration when two are kept in contact .

In experiment, the molecules of pottasim permanganate are concentrated in a corner so, due to diffusion they starts dissolving till the they becomes equally distributed .

 \huge \bold{ACTIVE \: TRANSPORT }

Its nothing but diffusion but refering that moving of molecules require no energy when they were moving from there higher concentration to lower concentration.

In the experiment,

The molecules of potassium permanganate moves from there higher region of concentration to a region with less concentration, with no input of energy.
