A large number of electrons are present in metals but there is no current in the absence of electric field. Why?

A large number of electrons are present in metals but there is no current in the absence of electric field because when a straight conductor is placed between a magnetic field the current will induced and when current induced then electrons move but in absence of field current will not induced so electron doesn't move
