Most of the peninsular rivers are seasonal in nature, eg. Godavari, Krishna, Tungbhadra, Narmada, Tapi, Mahanadi etc. because they are dependent upon rain (monsoons) for their charge of water. But Kaveri, a peninsular river is perennial because it flows throughout the year due to Southwest Monsoons in summers and Northeast monsoons in winters, which feed it with enough water to flow perennialy.
Well, the Himalayan rivers ( comprising of Indus river system, Ganga river system and Brahmaputa river system) originating from glaciers of Himalayas are perennial i.e flow throughout the year. But due to anthropogenic activities’ induced pressure and global warming,even these rivers are turning into seasonal. The link below-
