Capsicum (x) , onion(y)
Total=25 which is 'x+y'
We know capsicum=4*onions
ie....x=4y
Therefore,4y+y=25
5y=25 .....y= 5

Answer:

The no. of onions pieces is 5 and the no. of capsicum pieces is 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :in total there are 25 pieces of Capsicum and onion on the pizza.

To Find: If there are 4 times as many onions pieces as capsicum pieces. how many pieces, how many pieces of each vegetable are there on the pizza?

Solution:

Let the no. of onions be x

Since we are given that there are 4 times as many onions pieces as capsicum pieces

So, Capsicum pieces = 4x

Now we are given that there are total 25 pieces of Capsicum and onion on the pizza.

So, x+4x=25

5x=25

x=5

Onion Pieces = 5

So, Capsicum pieces = 4x =4 \times 5 = 20

Hence the no. of onions pieces is 5 and the no. of capsicum pieces is 20
