Given:

Length of the cubical wood = 42 cm

Therefore:

Largest possible diameter of the sphere = 42 cm

Find the radius of the sphere:

\text{Radius } = \text{Diameter } \div 2

\text{Radius }=  \text{42 } \div 2

\text{Radius }=  21 \text { cm}

Find the volume of the sphere:

\text{Volume of the sphere} = \dfrac{4}{3}\pi  r^3

\text{Volume of the wood carved out} = \dfrac{4}{3}(\dfrac{22}{7})   (21)^3

\text{Volume of the wood carved out} =  38808 \text { cm}^3

Answer: 38808 cm³
