Answer:

S= vt

Speed of light = 3 * 10^8 m/s

S= vt/2 because 2.6 is both side time

S= (3*10^8)2.6/2

S= 1.3(3*10^8)

S= 3.9*10^8 m

Answer:

Concept:

A laser beam after reflection from moon's surface returns to earth after 2.6 seconds and to know the distance of the moon from the surface of earth.

Explanation:

The speed of light ,c=3×10^{8}m/s

t=2.6s

∴d=\frac{c\times t}{2}

=\frac{3\times 10^{8}\times 2.6}{2}

=\frac{7.8\times 10^{8}}{2}

=3.9×10^{8}m

=3.9×10^{5}km
