A lawn 50 m long and 40 m broad has a path of uniform width 8m outside it. Find the area of the path and the cost levelling it at the rate of ₹50 per square metre.

Answer
Long = 50 m
Broad = 40 m
(8 m + 8 m ) = 16 m
50m +16m =66m
40m+ 16m =56
66m× 56m= 3696
50m×40m = 2000
3696 - 2000 = 1696 sq.m
Area = 1696 sq.m
1696 × 50 = ₹84800
Area = 1696,₹84800

Answer:

The area of the path and the cost levelling are 1696m² and 84800 rupees respectively

Explanation:

Area of the lawn including path

= 66*56 = 3696m²

Area of the path =3696-2000

= 1696m²

Cost of levelling =1696*50

=84800 rupees

The area of the path and the cost levelling are 1696m² and 84800 rupees respectively

Subtraction:

The act of removing elements from a collection is represented by subtraction. Subtraction is symbolized by the negative symbol. The stack will now include five oranges rather than nine if, for instance, four of the nine oranges that are stacked together (as in the figure above) are then moved to a basket. As a result, 5 is the difference between 9 and 4, which is the same as 9 less 4. Subtraction can be applied to other types of numbers in addition to natural numbers. Subtraction is represented by the letter "-". The three numerical elements that make up the subtraction operation are the minuend, the subtrahend, and the difference.
