The area of the path is 0.0204 hectares.

• Given data :

Length of the lawn is 60 metres.

Breadth of the lawn is 40 metres.

Width of footpath is 1 metre.

• Firstly,we have to calculate the area of the lawn by using the following mathematical formula :

= Length of the lawn × Breadth of the lawn

= 60×40

= 2400 metre²

• The length of the lawn including the footpath

= {60+(2×1)}

= 62 metres

• The width of the lawn including the footpath

= {40+(2×1)}

= 42 metres

• The area of the lawn including the footpath is

= (62×42)

= 2604 metre²

• The area of the path

= Area of the lawn including path - Area of the lawn

= 2604-2400

= 204 metre²

= (204÷10000) hectares [ term of unit conversion is 10000 square metre = 1 Hectare]

= 0.0204 hectares (answer)
