Answer :-

12,500J

Given :-

  • Force acting on body is 500N
  • Distance covered by body is 50m
  • Angle made by the body with respect to ground is 60°

To find :-

  • Work done by the body

Solution:-

As all we know that ,

When displacement of the body makes an angle θ with applied force, Then work done by body by constant force F is given by

W = (component force along displacement)(Displacement)

W = (F cosθ )(S)

W = FS cosθ

Substituting the values ,

W = (500)(50) cos60°

From Trigonometric values ,

cos60° is 1/2

W = 500 × 50 × 1/2

W = 500 × 25

W = 12,500 J

So, work done by the body is 12,500J

Know more :-

Work is said to be done when the body undergoes displacement in application of force (or) in direction of component of force

S.I unit of Work done is joule (J)

Work done is a scalar quantity

Note :-

Work done by a constant force can be positive, negative, zero

Work done by body is may be the Kinetic energy, Potential energy, Gravitational potential energy, Elastic potential energy, Electric potential energy e.t.c
