Radius of pencil =7/20 cm
Radius of graphite = 1/20 cm
height of pencil = 10cm
Volume of graphite = πr^2h = 22/7 × 1/20 × 1/20 × 10 = 0.078 cm^3
Volume of pencil = πr^2h = 22/7 × 7/20 × 7/20 × 10 = 3.84 cm^3
volume of wood in pencil = volume of (pencil - graphite) = 3.84 - 0.078 = 3.762 cm^2
weight of graphite = 2.1 × 0.078 = 0.1638 g
weight of wood = 0.7 × 3.762 = 2.6334 g
total weight of pencil = 0.1638 + 2.6334 = 2.7972 g

dheeraj9999: a lead pencil consists of a cylinder of wood with solid cylinder of graphite filled into it the diameter of the pencil is 7mm the diameter of the graphite is 1mm and the length of the pencil is 10cm find the weight of the whole pencil if the specific graphite of the wood is 0.7g/cm^3 and the graphite is 2.1g/cm^3
