Sir,
I am Kriti, a resident of Lucknow. I salute the hard work of police officials. But yesterday I came across something, which shook my faith and might have had some effect on other people too.
A leading news channel gave live coverage of some young slum dwellers being beaten up mercilessly by the police for crimes not committed by them.
Being the live coverage, the question of authenticity didn't arise. I completely understand that it is difficult to handle the situations some times, but I would request on humanitarian grounds, to avoid such measures.
I urge you to command the officials to adopt different measures, rather than beating the innocent people. Hopefully, this letter will help the innocents, who suffer without fault.
