He must Travel at 9.82 km/Hr to  arrive at home at 6:00    if He travels at 18 k/hr & reaches  5:30 and travels 8 km/hr & recahes at 6:15. Leaves school at same time

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Distance between School & Home = 72D km

Time Taken at 18 km/hr  Speed  = 72D/18  = 4D  hr

He left School  = 5 : 30  - 4D

Time Taken at 8 km/hr  Speed  = 72D/8  = 9D  hr

He left School  = 6 : 15  - 9D

5 : 30  - 4D = 6 : 15  - 9D

=> 5D  hrs  =  45 mins

=> 5D = 45/60

=> D = 9/60

=> D = 3/20

4D hr = 4 * 9 /60 hr  = 36 mins

He left School  = 5 : 30 - 36 mins  = 4 : 54

Time required to Reach at 6 :00  =  1 hr 6 min   = 66 mins

= 66/60 hrs

= 11/10 hr

Distance = 72D  =  72 * 3 /20  = 108/10  km

Speed = (108/10) /(11/10)    =  108/11 km/hr

= 9.82 km/hr

He must Travel at 9.82 km/Hr to  arrive at home at 6:00
