Let the -

  • length of bacteria be x cm.

According to question,

Length of a bacteria enlarged 50000 times and attains a length of 5 cm.

Enlarged length of bacteria × Assumed the length of bacteria (actual length) = Attained length of the bacteria

\implies \sf{50000 \:\times\:x \:= \:5}

\implies \sf{x \:=\:\dfrac{ 5}{50000}}

\implies \sf{x\: = \:\dfrac{1}{10000}} cm

•°• Actual length of bacteria is 1/10000 cm.

Also,

If the length of bacteria is enlarged 20000 times, then we have to find the enlarged length of bacteria.

If bacteria enlarged 50000 times then it attains a length of 5 cm.

Now, If bacteria enlarged 20000 times then it attains a length of y cm.

\implies \sf{\dfrac{50000}{5}\:=\:\dfrac{20000}{y}}

\implies \sf{\dfrac{10000}{1}\:=\:\dfrac{20000}{y}}

Cross-multiply them

\implies \sf{10000y\: =\: 20000}

\implies \sf{y\:=\:\dfrac{20000}{10000}}

\implies \sf{y\:=\:2} cm

•°• If bacteria enlarged 20000 times, then it attains a length of 2 cm.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

\bf\underline{Given:-}

Length of bacteria is 5 cm if its photograph is enlarged 50,000 times.

\bf\underline{To \ Find:-}

Its enlarged length.

\bf\underline{Solution:-}

\sf{Let's \: Assume \: the \: original \: length \: of \: bacteria \: be \: x \: cm}

\sf According \: to \: the \: Question

\sf\implies 50,000 \times x = 5 \: cm

\sf\implies x = \frac{5}{50,0000}

\bf\implies x = 1 \: micrometer

\sf Let \: the \: enlarged \: size \: of \: the \: bacteria \: after \: 20,000 \: times \: enlargementv = y \: cm

\sf\implies 20,000\times\frac{1}{10000}=y

\sf\implies y=\frac{20000}{10000}

\bf\implies y =2 \: cm

\bold{Hence, \: the \: enlarged \: image \: of \: bacteria \: after \: 20,000 \: magnification \: is \: 2 \: cm.}
