let the breath of the rectangle be x m

then,

length of the rectangle=56m

given, perimeter =56m

2×(2x-8+x)=56

2(3x-8)=56

6x-16=56

6x=56+16

6x=72

x=12

breath of rectangle =12m

and length of rectangle =2×12-8=16m

Answer:

-20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, breadth be x.

and length be 8-2x

Then,

2(8-2x+x)=56

2(8-x)=56

16-2x=56

-2x=56-16

-2x=40

-x=20

x= -20
