Answer:

The lens is convex as virtual and enlarged image is formed only by a convex lens.

F= 12 cm(+as f is positive in convex lens)

M=3(magnification)

M=v/u

v/u=3

v=3u

Lens formula

1/v-1/u=1/f

1/3u-1/u=1/12

-2/3u=1/12

-3u=24

u=-8 cm

M=v/u

3=v/-8

v=-24 cm

Distance between v and u

=V-U=-24-(-8)

=-16

Or just 16 cm
