A Letter of Advice
Read the letter below from your friend Pat and write a reply. Begin your letter Dear Pat and sign it Chris. Write around 300 words.

Dear Chris,
     I need your help. I am 70 pounds overweight. I have tried dieting many times but it didn't work. Now, I just give up on it. I feel like crying every night because of the way I look. The older I get, the more concerned I am about my weight problem. I am not dating any guys now because all my friends said I am ugly and unattractive. 
     Last year I went to my mother's house for Christmas and all I got were strange stares and fat jokes form my relative.
     When I am unhappy, The more I eat, the fatter I become. Sometimes, I am scared that I will end up dead because of my poor health. I  can't even walk 10 metres without gasping. I've joined a fitness programme at school. All it did was help me lose two pound! What can I do to lose weight? More importantly, what can I do to feel better about myself and become healthier?

Dear Pat,
I know what kind of feeling is when one is looking wierd because of overweight. Even I was one of them. You know I have tried thousands of remedies to get rid of it. And after following a course of remedy accordingly I am 55 pounds now.
I am going to share what I did try and I am sure you going to get rid of it.

Overweight is caused by overconsumption of calories and physical inactivity. Some other causes may include: hormonal imbalances, stress, medical conditions, genetics, toxins, or a side effect of medications.
Check if you have one of these. If yes, fix it.

Control your diet:-
Sugar – Increases hunger and leads to the consumption of empty calories.
Processed and junk foods
Refined flour
Sweetened beverages
Trans and hydrogenated fats

To overcome the problem you'll have to try one of these Natural Treatment and Supplements

Hi Chris,


Thanks for your letter. It’s good to know how are you doing. It’s too bad that you’ve become ‘out of shape’ but I hope it will do you good as you will never make the same mistake, won’t you? However, I will help you (at least I’ll try to ).


The short period of time in which you have to get fit again and your working hours make it a little bit difficult to lead a healthy lifestyle but I’m sure you’ll do your best to come back to form. If I were you, I’d try to go to bed as early as I can since your metabolism works well then. You can try taking some pills that speed up your metabolism. A short jogging round your settlement before sleep isn’t a bad idea too. What’s more if you can (if you have some time to spare) to jog also in the mornings – before you go to work. Or even better! Ride your bicycle to your office! As far as eating goes you shouldn’t eat too much carbohydrates. Consume more proteins than fat. Going to gym in your free time rather than watching telly wouldn’t do you any harm (but then you should ask a professional trainee for a piece of advice on how to exercise to look good and keep fit).


I believe that if you keep to my advice you’ll look good in short time and will have no problems with going out on the beach to meet some new people. If you manage to write before you go on your holiday, please inform me about your progress. Have a nice holiday!
