During my eighth-grade Spanish class I was handed a rather short, simple book with 10 chapters. Rudimentary as it was, it was probably about what I could handle at this point in my education. I made my way through it, and at the end, I felt boundless excitement.

My comprehension of this new language had opened up a whole new world of literature and people I could understand and with whom I could interact. It was then that my love for languages took off, and I have since resolved to learn as many languages as my brain can handle, allowing me to travel across hemispheres and experience cultures with wonder in my eyes and words on my tongue!
