The excess of young and working population in a country and the economic benefits resulting from it are seen as a demographic dividend. India currently has the largest population of youth in the world. If this population is used to accelerate the economy of India, it will provide demographic dividend to India. But if education is not quality, employment opportunities are limited, health and financial security are not available, then the large working population can take the form of a curse. Therefore, different countries emphasize population growth in proportion to their resources. At present in India, the young and working population is very large but there are limited employment opportunities for them. In such a situation, if population growth is not controlled, the situation can be catastrophic. It is in this context that the Indian Prime Minister recently spoke about population control.
