Subject: Lapses in Education System

Mr. Prakash Javadekar
Minister of Human Resourse Development
Shastri Bhawan
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road
New Delhi.

Dear Sir

I'm a student of class XII and as I 'm about to complete my school education, I want to bring to your attention the lapses that our education system has and request you to frame our education system as per the need of today.

Sir, the first and foremost thing is the choice of subjects that is available is quite rigid and a student is not always able to pursue his studies in the subject he likes. The structure of the courses is still what it used to be twenty years back and has lost much of its relevance. Secondly, there is hardly any room individualistic learning as the classrooms are over crowded, sometimes comprising 50 students, though ideal teacher student ratio is 1:25.

Next, too much weightage is given to rote learning and cramming instead of project based learning by doing, Lastly, with the expanding concept of global citizens, it becomes mandatory that we maintain global standards in our education also.

Hope you would agree to most of the points and give them a serious thought so as to bring them into practice.

Thank you

Yours truly

The Minister-in-charge,                                                                     14/03/2017
Human Resources Development Minister,
Government of India,
New Delhi.

Dear Sir,

I take this opportunity to write to you about certain shortcomings in our education system.

It would be very nice if you could do away with the system of examination as it is conducted in most parts of the country. This will lead to a change in the manner in which some students deal with them,. A large number of students merely learn by rote rather than acquire true knowledge as they are expected to. Perhaps, questions can be asked based on the acquired knowledge and not directly from the lessons taught.

Another area that requires your immediate attention is mass copying in examinations, especially at the board level, in certain places of the country. Adoption of unfair means by some affects the standing of the genuinely honest students. Stricter invigilation is the need of the hour and rustication of dishonest or compromising invigilators is an absolute necessity.

One other area that requires immediate remedy is induction of better and dedicated teachers in villages and small towns and disbanding of tutorial centres and private tuition.

I shall be very grateful if you will kindly tackle the above maladies on a war footing.

Thanking you,
Yours faithfully
Amitabh Chaturvedi
