The Health Officer,

Zone Name,

City Name ……………………

Sir,

In the capacity of the secretary of the Residents’ Welfare Association of ………………………… (area name), let me draw your attention to the unhygienic sanitary condition prevailing in the locality, which need the immediate attention of the Municipality.

The stagnant waters, the foul smelling drains and the un-removed garbage, have made life very miserable for the residents. Heaps of garbage lies near the dustbins. Even the dust-bins remain full to capacity. They are not cleared for weeks. The stagnant pools of water have become a breeding place for flies and mosquitoes. Stray dogs and pigs surround the dustbins. An epidemic is expected any moment due to the unhygienic conditions here.

Complaints lodged at the local office proved futile. The situation still remains the same. If immediate steps are not taken to improve the sanitary conditions of the locality, the life of the residents will be in danger.

Kindly take necessary steps to improve the situation of ……………………(area name).

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

The Health Officer,

Malaypur,

Dear Sir,

Subject: Cleaning of garbage.

I am constrained to bring to your notice that garbage has piled up at the street corner on the Jaspal Jeet Road, near Radhe Flats and no clearance van has been sent since the last week.

The squalor, filth and the stench are producing havoc here. The flies and mosquitoes have almost covered the area. Worms of all kind are seen crawling the affected area. The air is being polluted because of the gases that keep bubbling out of the decomposed organic materials in the dump. The whole garbage is being scattered by street dogs, pigs, and other kinds of animals. it is very difficult for us to believe that this could even happen in this place which, earlier, used to flaunt sophisticated look.

We have constantly been submitting petitions ever since the start of the garbage accumulation, but the response is hardly visible. This accumulation is exposing us to different health hazards and there seems a certainty of the outbreak of some disease.

I would request you to visit this place on an urgent basis so that you can demonstrate the plight of the individuals in and around the society. I hope I m able to forward my issue to you and wish that you would take effective actions to clear this dump.

Yours faithfully,

Anad Malik
