Dear Grandpa,
Hope this letter finds you in good health and spirit. How have you been doing and how is your health. Trust, you are taking care of yourself and having your medicines on time. This time for Diwali I am getting a week’s holiday from school. While the last 4 Diwali were spent here without you, this time for Diwali I would want you to join all of us. I know after grandma’s death, you do not feel like going or travelling anywhere and that you prefer being at home. However, here, this is also your family and your home. How nice and splendid were those days when you and grandma used to visit us for Diwali each year and give us your blessings, and grandma making those delectable sweets and savories during Diwali.
I really miss those beautiful moments. After Grandma’s death, you seem to have forgotten about all those moments. You only confine yourself at your home, hardly making time to visit people or spend some cherishing moments with all of us. If you come to Chennai to visit us, I am sure you would feel nice and happy and especially since I can spend one whole week with you without having to worry about studies, tuitions, extracurricular classes, etc.
I shall ask dad to book your flight ticket and make other arrangements. Since Raghu, your caretaker is there with you, I am sure he would help you with packing and seeing you off at the airport as well as ensuring you board the flight safely, after which the flight staff would take care of you until you reach Chennai. Once you reach here I will come with dad to pick you up. So, you see, you need not worry much about travelling alone. Please consider my request and do confirm without fail. Hoping you would give me a positive reply.
