Dear ( Name of your penfriend ),
This is ( Your Name ) from ( Your Place ). I would like to have you as my penfriend. I'm from India. As you know, India is known for its Unity in Diversity. Each and every part of India has a different language, different food, different dance, different dress and different gifts from Mother Nature. Let me tell more about South India. South Indians mainly eat rice. The dance of Tamil Nadu  is Bharathanattiyam. Each move in the dance contains a hidden meaning. While Ladies wear Sarees, Men wear Dhoti. Tamilians speak Tamil, Keralites speak Malayalam etc.. I assure you, India is a great spot to spend your vacation. My hobbies are to read books, paint, and to collect coins. If I find a rare coin somewhere, immediately I buy it. In my spare time, I either read books or I do some painting. I have three books full of my collection of my paintings. Let me know if you would have me as your penfriend. Awaiting your reply very eagerly.
                                                                                                       Yours Truly,

                                                                                                    ( Your Name )

11/07/15Dear, NathleenHello! How are you? I got your letter today itself, I'm fine here. I was really amazed by the deep interest you hold in Indian culture. You must be really interested in history and art. As you already know, Indian culture is one of the oldest culture in the world. The Indian culture, often labeled as an amalgamation of several cultures, spans across the Indian subcontinent and has been influenced by a history that is millions of years old. Every part of the country, from north to south, east to west has a different culture of its own. India is the birthplace of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism, collectively known as Indian religions. Each region has its own festivities, for example - Bengal is famous for its Durga pooja, South has Pongal, Punjab has Lohri , UP stands apart for holi and Diwali. The people have different food habits, varying clothing styles and a lot more. In fact they have different greetings too.Still in midst of so much, we stand together united as one nation.
Staying in such a nation, my hobbies mostly relate  to collecting information on the cultures of India, honestly its like never ending, more than 100 languages here, can you imagine! Some of my other hobbies are, reading fiction, cycling , driving out etc.
More when we meet, looking forward to hear from you soon. I'm keen to know about your culture too!
Yours,

Soumita.
