a lift is ascending with a uniform acceleration f . A person standing on the lift throws a ball vertically upwards with a velocity v relative to the lift. If after time t the ball falls back in his hand , show that v= (f+g)×t/2, where g is the acceleration due to gravity

Answer:

acceleration of the lift is given a.

taking every thing with respect to lift.

speed of the ball relative to lift is =V, similarly acceleration of the ball with respect to lift is −g+−a=−(g+a)(acceleration of lift) [taking upwards direction as positive].

so time of flight of body moving vertical is given by g+a2V.

so best possible answer is option A.
