A lift is moving up with acceleration equal to 1/5of that due to gravity. The apparent weight of a 60 kg man standing in lift is?

If the man were standing on a scale his weight would not increase. You would think that 1/5 of sixty added to sixty and he would weigh 72 kg but it does not work that way. Take a bathroom scale into an elevator step on it and hit the up button. On the initial take off it will flinch and quickly return to your normal weight.
