A lift moves with an acceleration a. A person in the
lift drops a ball. What is its acceleration with
respect to the lift floor, if the
(i) Lift is going down?
(ii) Lift is going up?

This is a easy question.

Explanation:

(I) if the lift is moving upwards then the ball will have relatively more acceleration than the lift so the relative acceleration of ball will be more than lift. And ball will drop on the surface of lift

(ii) but if the lift is coming down so the acceleration of ball will be negligible or the ball will start to float in air as it will be in non inertial frame of reference
